NYC Flashback- Oktoberfest

Fall and Spring are my two favorite seasons, probably because they are mild buffers between Summer and Winter.  When I start to get sick of the harsh cold of winter, after the holiday season has come and gone, I daydream about warm Spring days and when I can't take another humid summer day I start fantasizing about pumpkin coffee, falling leaves and Oktoberfest.  There are a bunch of really fun German bars in NYC but my favorite is Zum Schneider.  You always have to get there early to get a spot to sit at one of the long communal tables, and when I say early I mean like 11am.  Once they open the doors you pick your seat amongst friends and strangers, order a ridiculously large beer, sausage and potatoes, and get ready for the band to start playing traditional German songs.  It's such a great time.  This bar is great around Christmas too because it's kind of the same thing but with traditional German Christmas songs.
Barrett and I, the first time I brought him to Zum Schneider.
